Anim8s was formed in 2006 by a group of artists and childcare professionals who discovered a shared interest in engaging children and young people in the arts and digital media. Over the years our work has expanded, and we now work with people of all ages in partnership with schools and other agencies that support the wellbeing of vulnerable children, young people and adults. Our projects offer exciting and innovative projects designed to meet the social, emotional and learning needs of participants, realising their aspirations, developing their skills and confidence and, when appropriate, giving them the opportunity to speak out about the issues that affect them. Our work often involves the creation of stories as a tool for personal and group development.
In recent years we have worked in partnership with local authorities, NHS Scotland and charities including Seal Dunfermline, Fife Gingerbread, Families First St Andrews, Fife Headway, Barnardo’s and Action for Children.
A key aspect of our work lies in the development of partnerships; the development of meaningful relationships with agencies and professionals who share our interest in exploring how creative media, arts and film can be used in a way that provides social and educational benefits to people of all ages.
